Anacortes High School is currently undergoing a multi-phased replacement and modernization on an occupied site. It is being completed under the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GCCM) delivery method. Phase 1, the new Rice Field Athletic Complex, was completed in 2016. Phase 2, the East Building, completed in 2018, consists of a new two-story addition, including classrooms, the commons, kitchen, and library. Flex spaces located in the hallways encourage group work, tutoring, and socializing. Currently under construction is Phase 2, the West Building, which will modernize Brodiak Auditorium and the gymnasiums, along with adding music, career, and technical education classrooms filled with the latest tools and technology. The new Cap Sante High School building will be constructed on the southwest corner of the school site.
