“Shorewood pride shows up in many ways here. Our staff, students, and parents are very proud of their beautiful new facility that replaced our aging building.”

Deborah Holcomb, Former Principal
Shorewood Elementary School

Shorewood Elementary School replaced the old 1950’s elementary that was on the same site. Classrooms grouped in clusters of five with a shared use space in the center make up small learning communities found in the school. By creating small learning communities, the facility utilized the buildable area to its capacity and also decreased the walking area from classrooms to core facilities such as the gym and administration offices. Although each cluster is identical, the skewed angles, natural daylighting, and varying views of the Puget Sound area create a unique experience for each group. Members of the community can easily access the gym and community room without disturbing the classroom wings.
